Terms and Conditions

• Only individuals who are citizens of India or Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) are eligible to participate in this competition.

• Participants must provide proof of Indian citizenship (such as an Aadhaar card, Passport, or Voter ID) or NRI status (such as an Indian passport with proof of foreign residency) when asked.

• All Images must be in the sole and exclusive ownership of the Entrant and must not infringe on the copyright of any other party.

• Each Entry must be received by the deadline as specified in the SPA timetable, which shall be published from time to time on the website and which may change.

• Photographs with borders, frames, watermarks or signatures will be disqualified by default.

• Basic retouching (brightness, saturation, sharpening, contrast and white balance) of images is acceptable as long as the photograph retains its original form. Any image that appears drastically different from its RAW version and Using AI will be disqualified.

• Information supplied in the caption and location/description must be complete, true and accurate.

• If their image is shortlisted, participants will be contacted to provide the accompanying RAW file. All information regarding the post-processing of the image must be shared on request. If the image was not shot in a RAW format, the original, unprocessed JPEG file must be shared. If the original file is not available, the shortlisted image will be disqualified.

• The jury may request the participant to share a series of RAW images – shot immediately before and after the shortlisted image – to establish authenticity. If the participant fails to provide these images upon request, the image will be disqualified.

• The Entrant gives full rights for the organiser to use the images for their promotional activities,Exhibition,brochures,calendar etc. Due acknowledgment of the photographer's name will be mentioned for the images that are used by the Owners of the Competition.

• The copyright in respect of each Image will remain with the copyright owner before and after submission to the Competition and will not be transferred to the Admin or ISPA.

• The only mode of communication will be through e-mail. Therefore, please mention your current and valid email ID, Mobile No and full postal address in your entry.


Award Policies

• Sports Photography Awards reserves the right to remove or refuse any entries from the awards for any reason.

• Sports Photography Awards reserves the right to reassign image(s) into a different category at any time during the awards campaign.

• Entries will be refused or removed if in the sole judgement of the  Sports Photography Awards they could reasonably be expected to breach or contravene any applicable law or bring the awards, a sponsor, a partner, or the photographer into disrepute. Such entries will be deemed as void.

• The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

•  The Sports Photography Awards' web Privacy Policy applies to the awards and to the use of the website.

• By accepting the Terms & Conditions of the awards and subsequently submitting your images, you have entered into a legally binding agreement with Sports Photography Awards.

•  Once entered, images cannot be withdrawn unless the organisers are notified of a permissions problem, in which case if the organisers are satisfied that there is sufficient evidence to justify withdrawal, the images will be withdrawn.

Image Uploading Rules

Image Quality

• We only accept digital photographs, in JPEG format, RGB mode, with a maximum of 1920 pixels (on the longer side). For example, a horizontal image can be 1920x1280 px while a vertical image can be 1280x1920 px and maximum of 4-5mb per image.

•  Minimal post-processing such as color correction, and sharpening is allowed.

• Cropping is allowed as long as the original message/content of the photograph is not altered drastically.

•  Any image that appears drastically different from its RAW version and Using AI will be disqualified.




File Renaming

• Each image file should be renamed as follows:

• CategoryName_FirstName_LastName.jpg

• Example: Action_Dinesh_K.jpg

• The category name must be clearly stated in the file name, followed by the photographer’s first and last name.


Mobile Category Rules

• Images taken only using mobile phone can be uploaded

• Only sports/sports related images taken using mobile can be uploaded, any other irrelevant entry will be automatically disqualified.

• If your image is shortlisted, participants will be contacted to provide the timestamp and relevant details to prove authenticity of the image

• Photographs with borders, frames, watermarks or signatures will be disqualified by default.

Submission Process

• After renaming and zipping the files, participants must upload the ZIP file to the designated contest submission portal.

• Ensure that the total file size of the ZIP archive does not exceed [50mb].


Disqualification Criteria

• Images that do not follow the naming convention or fail to be submitted as a ZIP file may be disqualified.

• Incorrect categorization or submission of images that do not match the chosen sports category will result in disqualification.

Number of Submissions

• Participants are allowed to submit 1 images per category and can enter in all categories. All images must be submitted together in the single ZIP file.

  1. Eligibility

    Only Indian citizens or NRIs can participate, and proof of citizenship or NRI status must be provided when asked.


  2. Image Requirements

    Images must be solely owned by the entrant, follow JPEG format (max 1920px on the longer side, 4-5MB), and retain their original form. Drastic edits or use of AI will result in disqualification.


  3. Submission
